Reba McEntire is now her own manager. The country icon has separated from her former management company, Starstruck Entertainment, following her divorce from Narvel Blackstock, Starstruck’s president and CEO.
As president of Reba’s Business Incorporated (RBI), McEntire will handle her own career, with help from associate manager / tour manager Carolyn Snell, brand manager Leslie Matthews and controller Theresa Connelly. Justin McIntosh will work with both RBI and Starstruck Entertainment, as vice president of creative and marketing. RBI will operate out of 40 Music Square West, the same location as Starstruck.
“I thought it was a good time now to break free from management,” McEntire revealed during an event at the Bluebird Cafe on March 29. “My team at Starstruck, which is now RBI, joined together and had a powwow at lunch, [brainstorming] ideas. Then we took our list to [my label] Nash Icon, and they were so excited because we were willing to do things that we hadn’t got to do before. If there was something they asked for in the past, [let’s] bring it up again.
“We all get along and love the business,” she continues. “We’re always trying to find out new ways to do things.” MORE…
