Jelly Roll paid tribute to military service personnel and veterans during his rousing performance at the Closing Ceremony of the Invictus Games in Vancouver on Sunday night (February 16). The country superstar’s set included the Grammy-nominated ballad “I Am Not Okay,” and the Country Airplay No. 1 hit “Liar,” but it was his emotional message to the crowd that resonated the loudest. “I want to be clear right now about what’s happening on this stage,” Jelly announced to the crowd. “I am an overweight man with a microphone. The real heroes are the athletes and the families that are in this building right now.” Prince Harry created the Invictus Games – an international sports tournament for wounded, injured and sick veterans – back in 2014, and hopes that one day such events are no longer necessary. “I wish that we could close this down because there wasn’t a need for it, but as long as there’s a need for it, we will keep it going,” the Duke of Sussex says.
